Star Foot Tattoos – A New Use For An Old Tradition
Star tattoos have been popular for a very long time. Ancient sailors would have them tattooed on their hands as a good luck charm. This practice led to them being given the name Nautical Stars. Since then, many groups have adopted the star as their symbol, from punk rockers to gay and lesbian activists. Military personnel still use the star as a good luck charm, calling it the North Star that will show them the way home. Recently, the star design has found its way to women’s feet. These star foot tattoos can symbolize many different things.
Often, these foot stars are incorporated into a shooting star design. Often the women who have these placed on their feet are symbolizing the end of an period of their life, such as graduation from high school or college. They can also be used to mark a new beginning, such as a marriage or the birth of a child.
Shooting star tattoos can also be used to symbolize the realization of a dream. Wishing on a shooting star is a long standing tradition, so why not carry one with you so that you may wish for your dreams to come true whenever you want to?
Many celebrities have shooting star foot tattoos. Both Kate Hudson and tennis star Anna Kournikova have them. They say that they had the put on as a constant reminder to themselves that there dream was to be a star. Apparently this worked for them.
Of course there are many people who get star designs tattooed on themselves simply because they think they look cool. These people assign them no particular significance, seeing them just as an attractive adornment to their feet.

Because shooting star tattoos are so popular you may have trouble finding a way to make yours unique. Do some research, look at pictures, and then you may want to combine the look of a couple of different designs so that you ends up with a look that is uniquely yours. Then you need to find a tattoo artist that can turn your vision into a reality.
Star foot tattoos, or any foot tattoos, do require a little more care while they are healing than a tattoos placed in a more traditional spot.. The foot must be kept uncovered for an extended period of time while the tattoo heals so you will probably want to have it done in the warmer months. Shoes and socks may not only adhere to the healing flesh, but they may alter the shape of your foot, which may cause the tattoo to heal out of shape or distorted. Also, because feet take a pounding with every step you take, you may experience more pain than with tattoos placed in less used parts of your body.
Whether you want to assign it any particular significance, or you simply like the appearance of star foot tattoos, they can be an attractive and sexy addition to your foot. Have one inked on you and break out you strappy heels and you are certain to attract notice.
